Copyright Notice
Unless otherwise stated, the website as a whole, its branding and editorial material, and the typographical arrangement of published journal editions are protected by applicable copyright law. Copyright in individual articles and embedded images, tables, data and other materials belongs to the authors or relevant rights holders and is subject to the publication or licence terms confirmed upon acceptance.
Except where permitted by applicable fair dealing or another statutory exception, no substantial part may be reproduced, adapted, compiled, redistributed, commercially exploited or communicated to the public without prior written permission from the relevant rights holder. Citations must accurately identify the author, article, journal, issue, year and URL. Public access to a web page or PDF does not waive copyright or grant unrestricted reuse rights.
Authors warrant that they are entitled to submit the manuscript, have obtained necessary permissions for third-party material, and are responsible for authorship, citations, factual statements and legality. Publication rights for accepted work are governed by these guidelines and the written licence confirmed by the author.
Notices concerning alleged copyright, privacy or other rights violations should identify the work or right, exact URL, disputed material, evidence of authority and contact details, and be sent to editor@renwenkexue.com. The journal may correct, suspend or remove material after review. Normal search-engine indexing is permitted, but bulk automated extraction that burdens the service or circumvents technical measures is prohibited.
Privacy Statement
Privacy Policy and Personal Information Collection Statement
The journal processes personal data in accordance with the applicable Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and data protection principles. This policy applies to website use, email submissions, editorial and peer-review correspondence, and publication-related communication.
Data collected and purposes
We may collect names, contact details, affiliations, titles, biographies, ORCID identifiers, manuscripts, co-author and reviewer information, correspondence, and basic technical logs or session cookies required for security and operation. Data is used for identity verification, editorial assessment, peer review, publication, corrections, research-integrity checks, rights and dispute handling, security, legal records, and the supply of published metadata to lawful indexing and preservation services. We do not use personal data for direct marketing without the applicable notice and consent.
Disclosure and international processing
Data is disclosed only as reasonably necessary to editors, invited reviewers, publishing or technical service providers such as hosting and email providers, indexing and preservation services, or competent authorities where legally required. Data may be processed across borders because contributors, reviewers and services may be located in different jurisdictions. Reasonable measures are taken to limit use and protect the data.
Retention and security
Author names, affiliations and bibliographic information for published works are retained as part of the scholarly record. Rejected or withdrawn manuscripts and related correspondence are normally retained for no longer than three years and then deleted or anonymized, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for integrity, rights, security or legal matters. Reasonable access controls, backup and technical safeguards are used, although no Internet transmission can be guaranteed absolutely secure.
Access and correction
Requests to access or correct personal data, and questions concerning retention or deletion, may be sent to editor@renwenkexue.com. Identity may be verified before a request is processed. Deletion may be limited where law, the integrity of the published record or the public interest requires retention.
